Title: Spark plugs
Post by: 702Stunna on July 21, 2020, 09:55:27 PM
Got a 460, with a MSD ignition coil and distributor, and a holly 750, it’s been a while since I’ve had a jet boat so I forgot my gap, asking around I was told anywhere from .03 to .05, .05 seems a little extreme, I read that Motorcraft was the original OEM plug for this motor and was replaced by autolite, called autolite and they said that I should use 26’s according to their charts, can anyone recommend where I should set my gap at? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Msd has a chart for a starting point using a msd box.

assuming it a regular pump gas motor, no blower etc. i would say just go .040.  no need to go crazy.
