Assuming BBC, if money is no object (it isn't for me because I don't have any ;D ) I would go with a Tilton, otherwise there are bunches of companies out there making copies, the Tilton has rebuild parts readily available, so to each his/her own.. ;)

Looks familiar don't it? If you can get one for about the $150 range you in the hunt, like I said before, you can get parts for these and repair them easier than the chinese copies, but that's about the only benefit IMHO...

after going through several mini starters, i went back to using a stock starter. cant go wrong with autozones lifetime guarantee either.

yeah thats what i did got a free one and its been good ever since but the boat still wont start cranks over like a champion now :banghead:
i think it s a timing issue cuz ive checked for spark and fuel and its getting both so frustrating :banghead:

i added a msd ignition kit with box and lighter fly wheel and now starts up like a champ. hows your ignition set-up?

I was running a Tilton until the jack shaft broke. I bought an MSD starter last summer and never had a problem. The whole case is powder coated from MSD so no flaky white corrosion. Plus it has an adjustable billett mounting plate.
