Try one of the mini gear reduction starters. I paid 95.00 for a BBC about 10 years ago. A place in Turlock, CA- Superior Dist. Center 800-457-1728. Not only did it weight less than 1/2 the standard starter, it allowed me to run a lawn tractor battery, that was way less than 1/2 the weight of a standard battery. They don't pull the amps of a standard starter.

I have a buddy that works at a chevy dealership and he hooked me up with two of these badboys...

I have one on my boat and one on my motorhome. I think I paid under $200.
