So how do you seal this thing, my transom hole was way bigger than the OD of the rubber gasket. It is slopped with silicon, looks like crap and still has a drip.

Its like the bottom one but more donut shaped with a nut.

On a normal steering tube, there are 2 nuts, one in the back and one in the front. When tightened, they sandwich the rubber gasket so it donuts up on the part outside the transom cover.
