so justin (kustomkat) was messing with his motor and had his intake scoops off. he placed the wing nuts back on the all thread above the carberator. you probably already know where i am going with this.
so as he ran the motor the wing nuts backed off the all thread and jumped down the carb. so now he is pulling the motor apart to go hunting for the wing nuts.
and he is supposed to be going on the blythe trip this weekend.
well just thought i would let you guys know what we deal with on a daily basis.. lol :banghead: ;D

As long as he is just looking for the nuts and not replacing pistons, he is doing good ;D

Don't pick on the O/B owners, most of them don't realize they have a problem ;)

;D Two wing nuts and no miss, smoke, bang or pop.. Lucky doesn't do him justice.
Never put wing nuts where they can go down the spout! Find another way, period.
Just the babbling of a Ford guy. ;D
Good luck.

yup, i got lucky. no score marks in the cylinder, head looks good. valves look good. the other wing that the motor didnt eat weighs 5.2 grams. the pieces i have and found weigh in at 4.8. so there is something missing....hopefully it got spit out the header. but i just put the motor in so i think i'll flush the oil. twice. still trying to get to the river friday........lesson learned.
