I have a lead on some scj heads, looking for opinions. I know the guy really well. He bought a 514 ford motorsports crate motor like 8-10 years ago dropped it in his project cobra kit car and never even drove the car because it never got finished. The motor literally has been fired up and reved and that's it !
Now he wants to sell the motor to go bigger inch and just bought a set of kaase p51 heads and blah blah... The rest of what he needs to go bigger.
Anyway he gave me the option to buy his super cobra jet heads with all roller valve train push rods cam etc... He wants 2500- yes or no ?
I know that these heads let alone the whole motor has no time on it all !
OPINIONS ?

Great heads from what I have been told, I will be buying a set for my 514 Ford. But a new set complete is around $1800 last I checked. I don't know if the rest of what he is selling puts the value up to $2500. Worth looking into.

running a set on my 513 alky motor-mean sounding sob-pushing my placecraft to 95

You can buy the heads complete for. 1500 used. Are they scja, scjb or the a429 heads. If a429 then no more than 1500

I wanna say they are SCJB heads, they are set up with roller cam... I just know the amount of time in them is almost nothing. He said he'd give up the cam push rods and heads complete for the 2500. I DON'T KNOW ?!?!? Lol

And if you don't know who Lem Evans is you can find out pretty easily. He is also a regular on 460ford.com.

Your right I need to learn more about all this shit..... And that's exactly why I turned to the forum for some expert opinions. So what your saying is that a set of heads complete from summit is about 2000, without pushrods, without rockers and with out a cam... What would be a reasonable price considering he's willing to sell me this stuff all together ? Like I said this shit is practically brand new and it's all roller...
And yes I have seen all the pricing around for these heads new.

depends on the rockers, The cam I'd say is a big variable since it is a component that needs to be tailored to your engine, not his. pushrods eh. I'd say get the heads with rockers. Let him sell the pushrods and cam to someone else and get what's best for your motor. And try to pay $1900-2000. Unless it's something really high end like jesel shaft mount rockers or some really pricey rockers. My .02 cents.
