Title: tach
Post by: dustin on July 06, 2008, 10:34:44 PM
hey whats up. I'm new to the forurn. I got a quick question. I bought a msd pro billet distributor form my 1977 sundance. Its got a 454, but now my tach doesn't work right. What do I got to do for it to work? Someone one said I need to get a new tach, is that right? I have the stock hardine marine tach in it right now. I appreciate your help.

Welcome  ;D

If you got a MSD 6A or 6AL and your tach is not compatible normally you can get a MSD Tach Adapt to correct the signal to the tach (so you can keep your existing tach).  There are a couple different Tach Adapt units depending on which trigger you are using for the box.

Or you can switch to an Auto Meter tach and not have to worry about it.

Thanks for all the info. I accually am not running a box at all. Does the 6a box make alot of diff? Yeah I think I'll just get the msd addaptor so I can keep the stock tach.
