Title: Tachometer wiring
Post by: 78 Crusader on November 18, 2010, 07:40:51 PM
Guys....I did something retarded a few weeks ago. I decided it would look cool to put yellow bezels between my white gauges and white dash. When I removed the tach to slip the new bezel over it, my 8 year old son interrupted me and I got the wires mixed up and when I ran the motor, I burned up the tach. I now have a replacement tach and need some help as to where the wire go. I have the lighting and ground wires correct as they are the same as the other gauges however there is an Ign and send connection that I think I screwed up before. Does the ign plug take a direct 12v from the ignition and the send from the wire coming in from the distributor?

Sorry for the lameness....just want to get it right so I don't burn up another tach on Saturday when I install it.

Thank you.

ign is fancy for 12v, and SIG/send is from the distributor.
