just to note, David at A&D engines was in contact with me on a daily basis concerning the machine work on this build. We told him where we wanted the bearing clearances and he hit the #'s as well as the piston to wall clearance. Every thing was spot on

which made our job of assy pretty much a breeze. The scat crank was not perfect out of the box so it had to go to Castillo's for a touch up. since it is a cast crank we decided to heat treat it while it was there. Since this motor was for a race only application (endurance racing at that) we had the bearing clearances set pretty wide, the thinking behind this is that if we had oil pressure issues we could correct it in a number of ways. 1) change from the 20/50 oil to a thicker oil. 2) shim the high flow dynamics oil pump. 3) tighten the bearing clearances up by using the top half of a .001 tighter bearing to gain .0005 tighter clearance.
When we primed the oil system i was a little disappointed at the 75 psi we were getting

I was hoping for 80. but as long as the oil pressure came up with rpm i would be happy. so we fired the motor and she had 82 psi witch made me happy

as the oil became hotter the pressure dropped as expected. When the motor was reved up the oil pressure came with it. After Brad ran it up and down the river a couple of times the pressure remained at 75psi until idle then it came down to 35 psi witch told us that the oil system was working. i kept asking Brad what the rpm's were but all he kept telling me is that he had no time to look at the tach

I thew the gps in the boat and i will say under a bad tune (popping) it ran over 80mph.
there is more work ahead but for know the basics are done.
