Just when I thought it was not easily possible to waste more natural resources than I can with the Moo, Marc finds this, and I buy it. (Can't wait to see Gary's boats in person though, those things are SIK!!!). Thanks Marc!
This has inspired a totally different approach to an ongoing, stealth project, (That will be featured here within a VERY short time frame) I know I've hinted at it, so has Terry, but the cat's gonna stay in the bag for now. Just thought I'd give a detailed sneak peak at what you guys already knew I bought
I didn't realize just how big this Crower system was, but heres some detailed pics of the old Mechanical Fuel injection system I bought. This is the same system that was used in the early 70's through 80's on Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars, and I'm putting it on a lil boat!!! :banghead: :screwy:
This is also the later unit that, until Enderle brought out the Buzzard Catcher, out flowed everything else out there. No I'm not running Nitro in it.......well, wait a minute..............

All the Gasoline and Alky nozzles and orifices present and accounted for!

Even the original instrucion manuals (Though this is gonna be a weird deal no matter what, so dun know how much help these will be).
(https://www.socaljetboats.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi673.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv95%2FIrrebel%2FV-Drive%2FP7030016.jpg&hash=9e787f623a66d9c14cd3274336a12ebbfbf8393d)
Now the scoop is a problem. Originally, should have one like this
(https://www.socaljetboats.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi673.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv95%2FIrrebel%2FV-Drive%2FCragarscoop.jpg&hash=0ba8c1d2efc1f32ef849f448043703323259586a)
But I ain't got one. I have this one, the one I ran on the Moo actually at Temple Bar, and will work fine, though not period correct. Gonna get some drilled holes welded up on it, media blasted and polished and use it anyway for now, unless/until I find the correct one for it. It fits perfectly!

What do you guys think? Going over a blower, you already knew that (Dunno which, but prolly a 8-71, maybe a 6-71)
Am I nuts again? :screwy: :screwy:
Ray
-
I think nuts is an understatement ;D
But it will make for entertaining reading ;)
-
Could make for more entertaining viewing when it's done! But if this redeems me Keith, obviously it's going on a BBC! ;D
Ray
-
Can't wait, looks like it's going to be a fun project

Ray
I thot you said Hemi........... ???
-
A vintage blown hemi would be very cool.
Since I've been looking for an Olds 394 blower manifold for a friend of mine, I've seen a lot of classic hemi parts out there.
-
I thot you said Hemi........... ???
Gotta keep 'em guessing a lil huh? Stuff the cat back in the bag!
Ray
-
I love how all the parts are layed out on the carpet. Im wich I presum is the living room. I scored great points with my wife. " See honey i't could be worse". Thanxs.
-
Yup! Right in the living room! But I don't have that problem, but I could get haunted for it, however. :D
Ray
-
I've got my speedway bike parked in between the living and dining rooms. Kinda blends w/ the decore and gives off a nice Blendsall/Methanal aroma.
-
I have an important question, but I don't wanna let any cat out of any bag! :screwy:
-
hey ray, i am pretty sure i have the butterflys for the blue scoop if you need them, i will check and make sure, and if you want them you can have them.
after looking at you scoop, it is a little diff than what i had on forkedup, so they might not work, but you are sill more than welcome to them if you want to try ;D
p/s bitchen set-up, can't wait to see what you have cookin >:D
-
Actually, no, the butterflies are in the unit, no need for them on the scoop, so this works! Really wanna find an original, one will show up eventually.
Ray
Josh, you'll hafta e-mail me or call my landline 520-509-1518. My cell phone had ANOTHER water incident that I don't think it's gonna recover from this time! :banghead:
-
Couple more pics (Not in the living room this time, to keep you guys from throwing me under the bus with your wives, although someones gonna make a smart comment about expensive parts by the Pool, >:D)
Methinks the Blue Scoop is growing on me more than the original anyway. Kinda matches the AN fittings!
