I have a 460 with stock bottom end a cam and assault racing heidistributor where should my timing be set

I've always been told the Ford doesn't like as much timing as the Chevy.  I'd say start at 30 and work up to 32-33 degrees total.

I set it at 12 at idle does it increase with higher rpms it GPS at 62 with no place diverter

You need to check it at 3k rpm

3000 rpm,  32 degrees.   Adjust idle and don't worry about timing at idle.
