This guy, hole in the wall shop. But has piles and piles of stuff. If he doesn't have it ready he can rebuild it in two days.

I used a starter from a 2001 corvette. From autozone. About $70. works great! Weighs less and smaller than starter in pic. Google STARTER FOR 454. I am not 100% sure about year. And there are 2 different ones according to which flywheel you have. 153 or 168 tooth. Good luck. I am refering to bottom mount.

Thinking about picking this one up.
http://m.oreillyauto.com/mt/www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/USL0/32390/01920.oap?year=1996&make=Chevrolet&model=C3500%2BPickup%2BRWD&vi=5001257&ck=Search_01920_5001257_2968&pt=01920&ppt=C0330&un_jtt_v_thumb=4

Is it ok to go from a 9 tooth gear to a 11 tooth?

Sorry for all the dumb questions just wanna get this thing running today.
