Title: Top mount starter question

Will this 3 hole top mount starter fit this mount?

That LOOKS like the old school GM 3 bolt bell housing mounted starter. cast iron bellhousing in the '60s

Just because the holes line up, the starter has to turn the right direction.

For your top mount, the starter has to backwards from a conventional (typical low mount) starter.

Glenn (GT Jets) Probably knows the part numbers off the top of his head.

The guy selling it is a boat guy and says its a top mount starter for marine application

I'm going to say this, in not being a dick, just making some observations.

That may be a top mounted starter for a bell housing, but "Marine" it is not.

It should be the correct one, but without spinning the Bendix with your fingers, it's really hard to say. But yes, it will mount up. The one thing you need to remember is the ring gear goes rearward on the flywheel.
