for bending ½ hard line.
I really want to get nice bends and obviously I'm willing to spend a few bucks but what benders actually work?

I'm a plumber, I have a few different benders but I prefer my ridgid bender.. Just my opinion... 35 bucks and they've done me right.

If you're doing stainless I don't think that little rigid bender is going to do it.  When I did my hardline, I bought a bigger rigid one, more like the one GT posted and it is a bit of work to make that do stainless, but it did real nice bends.  What I did though was found one on EBAY and bought it used for like 40 bucks instead of almost $150 - 200 new.

This is how it did.

Similar to mine, mine are older and made by Ritchie, which was bought by Yellow Jacket. Keep in mind the material your bending, depending on what you are secretly working on  :sly: the tube could be measured by outside diameter...
