Does it make any difference if you tune and timing your jetboat out of water, and when you put it in water, does it drop power or something like that? I am curious because I changed the top end of my jetboat, and am asking an really good mechanic to do timing n carb tuning for me. But i ve wonder if it should be done when the water pumps through jet? Does it need to be higher when its out water so that when its in water the torque doesnt drop? im not very mechanical experinced with jetboats.

Really there is not much difference between the overall tune as far as out of the water and in...The only thing you may need to do once on the water is to adjust the idle speed, the mixture should be at least really close...
That is the great part of a jet, as long as the idle is even in the park, it will be drivable.. :thumbup:
Timing should be all in pretty early RPM wise and the out of water idle if a mild camshaft should be about 1200 RPM. ;)

"Baseline" your rig on the trailer (jet drive line diconnnected) fine tune it in the lake ... Tom
