Title: TUNNEL RAM NEW VS OLD
Post by: trmn8ter on December 17, 2009, 10:00:07 AM: I was wondering if you chebby guys could help me with this. I have a older edelbrock intake manifold on my boat. Here is a pic of it. I have a victor tunnel ram I got from a friend and before I go and have it polished then chromed I was wondering if you guys thought it would be worth it? I believe the old one is a ur -33 my dad put in on the boat back in 79 on a motor he had banks build back in the day. the boat has out of the box merlin heads with mainly just a good valvejob.

But if its not going to make a performace difference then Im not gong to screw with it, I just was told that these older intakes were not good for bigger motors and higher rpm? The ports on this start out good size than shrink down as they get closer to the intake port on the head. i can see how that would be great for low rpm but not for higher rpm. :banghead:
