The only way to really know what any engine wants or is happy with is to spend the time on a dyno, numbers are everything, everything else is just guess work. Timing has it's basic window, but there are many variables and only dyno results will tell where max power is made, carb. spacers and such items are all trial and error, again only one change at a time on the dyno will show true results weather you keep the item or not.
