Title: Up or down. ..?

Too Olds,er ..old to remember. The emprinted seal between cylinder bores: up being heads,down being deck? Oldsmobile iron,aluminum heads, Cometic gaskets,not stamped  up or down. Or does it matter? Any advise appreciated!

I had the same problem. Picked one side and went for it and here I am 2 years later and it's still runnin
