the thick cork gaskets.  the thin ones just dont work, but the thick ones are the jam.

Any quality rubber with the steel inner core are great, on my BBC engine in the boat  I like the OEM GM gaskets with the steel core, they have never leaked a drop. I have never cared for anything cork, it's either rubber or the black neoprene material for my choices.
