This guy brings a set of heads in that he had done somewhere for a BBC.
All this shop did was a valve job... This guy intalled heads. & V/Train all 16 valve stems DESTROYED!
.200 to long pushrods...Valve train Toasted :o
When will people learn to Pre-Assemble Engines ??? ??? It rarely is just bolt together and GO

Another Siggy line, Steve?
It used to amaze me when guys I knew used to just drop heads and cams into and onto engines and actually get away with it. Sometimes not. Never worked that easy for me. Remember one guy dropping a set of early 340 heads on a 318 along with a Direct Connection Purple Shaft, god knows what else direct from the DC catalog, and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't start. Bent like 9 valves and destroyed two pistons, and probably a lot more that I don't remember.
It was pretty ugly. I've pulled some retarded stunts on engines before, and will probably continue to do so, but that was a lesson I'll never forget! The guys used to make fun of me, back in the day, for assembling, then re-assembling an engine over and over again with a degree wheel, sometimes with more machine work and parts changes. Been crazy for me trying to gather up the proper tools again that I sold off, gave away or whatever almost 20 years ago to get back into this right.
Play-doh and cooking oil was my best friend in my younger years......(Well, maybe a close second to my Farah Fawcett poster........with the same cooking oil, but I'll leave that alone.................)
As Enginedoctor said, Dip Sht! This isn't Voo-Doo Science here. But then again, common sense isn't that common, so there you have it.

I have a saying... You can teach anyone anything, except common sense!
