Title: vavle cover breathers

i have a 455 olds engine that has been overhauled. The bottom end has been done for about 6 months works fine. The thing is my top took a shit so i went ahead redid my whole top end new heads, vavles etc. I ran the engine and it has alot off power but the breathers on my vavle covers mist out oil becomes a problem after awhile. WTF should i do  :banghead:

455 tend to make a lot of crank case pressure I would use moroso PT# 68788 lock in breathers and plumb into you headers for evac.

Running a PCV valve will help. PCV valves introduce manifold vacuum into the crankcase, which will drop crankcase pressure.

Enlarge the oil drian backs in the end of the heads , restrict the push rods (hdwr store roll pins in the upper ends ) put two large breathers on the Valve covers (one on each preferably towrds the front) and create a pcv using a Ford twist in valve cover grommet at the oil fill tube (pep boys) . Get a metal "chore girl" pot scrubber (super market) to create an anti climb  "baffle" in the oil fill tube  below the new PCV location. Call me if I can help you sort this out , started on Olds at a dlr in 1971  ;D Tom
