Title: Water in my Gas Tanks!!!???
Post by: pahrnic on August 06, 2012, 10:35:48 AM
What can i do or check to see where water keeps coming into my gas tanks? Im thinking its the gas caps.  Anybody have any issues with this before?
When i first got the boat a couple months ago i trained the gas tanks and found about 2 gallons of water between both tanks.  I changed my water fuel seperator filter, filled it up with gas and it ran great.
Ive been running the boat pretty much every other weekend with no issues.  I do see that water can puddle up right by the gas caps?
I ran the boat all weekend and saturday i ran the tanks pretty empty.  The next day i filled both tanks and went across lake, boat was runnin great, then it wouldnt wanna start.  Doing the ecxact same thing as when i bought it with water in the tanks! :banghead: :banghead:

Any suggestions on higher gas caps? what else can i check to see where water could be coming back in.  Ive already went through both breathers.

Thanks,
Sorry for the rambling  ^-^

drain the tanks and then stick a running hose around the fills and see if theres water going into em... perhaps new gasket or change the fuel fills to one that doesnt leak.

Check the vents also as well as the o ring on the gas caps, I'd also swap out the water fuel separator that may help also!!
