Fresh motor got water in the oil. I hope it's just from the headers. Think I'm gonna run them dry.

Intake or head gasket. But most likely intake going through that on my boat. But just found out its the head gaskets

Bought the motor already put together. I think it's the headers loading up with water. There was water poring from the little holes in the headers.

You pushed a gasket. Water putting from the weep hold is a sign your running too much water pressure. Your ball could be stuck in the t- valve. However, it's showing you what's wrong.

Pouring. If it was loading up the cylinders you would bend/break a rod/piston.

I shut the water to headers off, changed the oil and ran it for about 5 min. There's a lot less water now. Gonna do 2 more oil changes and hope I can get all the water out

Did another oil change. Looks a lot better. Pulled the dip stick after running for about 5 mins and don't see any water.

Get it on the water let the oil warm up then check the dip stick

Did the same exact thing with my motor.... Thought it was the headers, went dry still came back, reseated timing cover, then I got the good oil finally coming out.
All was good Until I actually got on the water. Ended up being head gaskets
The oils changes show the improvement, but was false comfort

I also got water in my oil. I do think it's my headers tho. First time messing with headers and a boat. Ran it with water hose at my house when I put my motor in my new hull. Turned the water on then the boat and what I thought was normal at the time, it started throwing out lots of mist/white smoke(didn't have a regulator).

Maybe you should plug those holes in the oil pan, might keep some of the water out. Lol ::)

Any way to tell if gaskets are blown? I was thinking of filling block with water and plugging everything (hoses going to headers and hose dumping back thru transom) and pressuring spark plug holes one by one to see if I see any bubbles coming out any gaskets

Do you have a pressure gauge anywhere on your manifold? I plugged ever water intake and exit with brass plugs, one had a Schrader valve, filled the block with water then put 20lbs of pressure in, let it sit over night...

No I don't. I need to but as of right now I have no water pressure Guage on intake.

Picked my gauge up for 12$ at the local hardware store. It's difficult to see it back there, but helps a lot!

Another way to check for head gasket leak while running would be to hook up a vacuum gauge it will defiantly point you in the right direction for diag if its a head gasket issue or some thing else I use a vacuum gauge on classics that come to the dealer and have drivability concerns good running engine is in between 17 to 21 hg

Vacuum gauge is a good tool can also be used for checking retarded timing or advanced timing or weak valve springs or valve guides or burnt valves or sticking valves or in correct fuel mixture it was the obd scan tool of the 60 s 70s 80s 90s

You can do a leak down test to check if the valves are seating but not to sure that it would be easy to get a water tight seal on the cooling system to perform a test like that i would pull he heads off and inspect head gaskets and have heads pressure tested if you already have it out

If any water gets into the cylinders through your exhaust ports, muddy oil is gonna be the least of your problems.
Most common "milk shake" problem is not enough silicone around the water passage at the intake manifold.
Second I've seen is the head gasket.
REGULATE WATER PRESSURE GOING INTO BLOCK!

It may have been the headers but you pulled engine so no way to tell now since motors out I mean if you come up with a bunch of Spair time put engine back in put in water and hook up vac gauge
Well motor isn't out yet but it's about to be in within next couple hrs lol
