ok so I decided to go OT headers
I have this 15 psi aquatrol relief valve laying around at work (brand new)
its a quality piece, HEAVY!
?1- will this relief valve work ok to keep engine water pressure at 15 psi
?2- will there be any issue with opening and closing the bassett t valve?

I built my own relief valve for that very reason of water psi. I couldn't find any other solution beside a garden hose gate valve which I thought was crazy. My inlet and outlets are 1/2" NTP and just after the reduced pressure side, I installed a "T" fitting where I ran a gauge 0-30 psi. and even with a 1/2" pipe I still coudln't dump enough water at WOT. It gets as high as 25 +/-psi. What side are the inlets/outlets on your valve? I don't have headers so I have no idea about enough pressure to open your header feed valve, but I think they are around 10psi when they open. I would recommend installing a sea strainer before the valve cause I sucked up some debris a few times and it was a bitch trying to fix it out on the lake.

You can probably use that valve, I can't see why not. I personally like running such a valve, although GT routinely chastises me for it (A solution to a non-problem). I will agree, I've never seen one of mine "pop-off"....but still cheap insurance. The best insurance is one you never need. ;)
The opening and closing of the T-Valve is another matter I've had many issues with. Dirt and sand mess them up quick, so a Sea-Strainer should be used on the incoming water at the jet in all cases anyway, and I've usually ended up installing a driver controlled micro valve so I could simply shut the water to a trickle while in NWZ's or extended idle speeds. Seen and milkshaked more motors I think because at one of our local lakes, there is a 2 to 3 mile NWZ up the channel to a popular beach to hang out, drink beer, and bench race. The water there is flowing, not unlike the Colorado, so a lot of junk in the water in that area.
