Title: What's missing?
Post by: hotrod56cars on April 02, 2008, 02:58:21 PM: So I have a pile of parts I'm going to eventually call a BBC. What's missing from the pile?

Here's what I have:
block w/freeze plugs, main caps, & cam bearings
pistons assembled with rods
crankshaft
rings
oil pump w/drive & pickup
balancer
PTO
flexplate
lifters
pushrods w/guides & studs
Terry has the heads
valve springs, retainers, locks
rocker arms
valve covers
timing chain
timing chain cover
oil pan
Terry has the water inlets and outlets
intake manifold
spark arrestor
headers
electric fuel pump
mech. fuel pump block off plate
throttle plate/bracket
HEI distributor
gasket set

I know I'm missing:
camshaft
carb

What else am I missing/forgetting?

gaskets
alternator
assembly lube
oil galley plugs
headbolts
windage tray (built-in to the pan)
plumbing

I need:
plugs and wires
alternator belt/brackets
oil filter, oil
BEER :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
paint

HD, I'm running this thing with a carb first before the MFI. I want it broken in before I try and tune my MFI for my set-up AND I don't have the cash to plumb the MFI - that is going to cost a lot.

I have a fuel pressure regulator but don't have a filter yet.
