Just built a new harness for less than a $100, get wire from McFaddendale by the foot.

Is that marine wire....or....?
...from eBay or McFadden dale. ?

I'll be in looking to either rewire....or figure out what's what in my basket case.

CP is likely selling the Hardin Marine harnesses.  You might save a few bucks buying direct.

I used the Hardin engine harness and built my own harness forward, but if I was going to do it again I'd just buy both kits and be done.

Most everything is on relays I have one 30 amp fuse. All I do is unplug three plugs and take hot off starter and ground off the block then pull the motor.

I'm still finishing up my wiring but yes from what I have been told and read 12 gauge is perfect  and my old harness looks to be smaller gauge

I use 14 on all signal wires 12 on starter and 10 on ignition, battery and grounds. And use relays on high draw items. And also use plugs on all my boats.

yep I'm sure 12 is fine for starter. And have never had a wiring issue. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm certainly not questioning your methods. I just thought starter....needing most amps would get thicker wire.
But I mean if it ain't broke.....don't fix it.
