Ok, what's the secret of pushing on push-on hose onto push-on fittings?

Greg, when I did mine I used some ATF on the fittings and a little in the hose itself, I pushed it on until I could push no more then I gave it a good whack or two with a rubber mallet while holding the fitting in my hand, yes I hit my had a few times. I was also told to soak the ends of the hose in HOT water for a few minutes to let it soften and "grow" a bit. Good luck.

I've heard of people talking about these push on deals but I don't think I've ever seen them, how about a pic or two when you can?

Well, I've got just four fittings I need to push on and I'm about ready to say FRUGEM all and look for pipe fittings with the splines on the.  I've now used hot water and silicon and can only get about 1/2 the way on.  That's worse than paying for a whore and only being able to get half a hard-on.  I think the whore is cheaper!

20 years ago you could get one for the whole night in the Phillipines for less than $3, and she'd dress you in the morning after she gave you a sponge bath with water out of a bucket.

From what I've heard she could probably do it with no hands and for "a long long time."

i have had those fittings before and liked them.....make sure you push them on untill it hits the stop or the yellow washer.....ps they are not comming off

Supposeadly (sp) you don't need clamps once they are installed and I can see why, it's a bitch to get the hose on in the first place...

Thanks. They look cool. A friend of mine used those throughout his boat but I haven't seen it yet.

OK so I gave him a call and asked him how he did the job. He said he put the fittings on the engine (or whatever part he was working on at the time), coated the end of the fitting that gets the hose with dish soap, heated the hose with a hair dryer, and shoved the hose onto the end. He said you get one shot to shove the hose on all of the way and if it doesn't go on all of the way you have to cut the hose off and try again. You can't partially install the hose onto the end and "work it on" the rest of the way. Hope that helped.
