Fathers day at Blythe didnt go to well for us. Launched friday around 11am, went up river for about 15 minutes before the oil guage started jumping. Opened the engine compartment only to hear the rattle and clanking that makes any boaters cheeks clench. The dip stick wasnt reading and oil, which we topped off just before we left the house. At that point the mechanic on the boat wanted to diagnose but we just decided to float and enjoy what we could for the rest of our day.
Yanked the motor yesterday😦... crank barings for 7 and 8 are gone and cylinder walls are pretty scared. She lasted roughlt 360 hours since the last rebuild.
502 block bored to a 509, and I think were going up to a 540 this time. Hopefully we have enough time to get her ready for our August trip.
Heres a few pics, ill post all the photos I have as we get her all put back together.
