What is this port for? Can I move my inlet from below, where it is currently at, to this? Or is this for something else? Bbc mercruiser aluminum center rise exhaust manifolds. Thanks in advance.

Need to feed from the bottom, why do you want to relocate? Are you feeding the elbows separately? Or through the manifolds?

T stat to lower manifold fitting. From 2 top fittings into riser elbow.... just thought it would look cleaner with hose running into the front. Just aesthetic purposes.

So the water from your pump goes into the block first?
This can be so improved is silly.

Ok,
This will be a bit of work, but worth it.
Rotate the elbows for the manifold water on the bottom 180°, feed them directly off the pump after the valve.
From the hose on the top of the manifold to the front of block, from the t-stat housing to the riser. You may want to restrict the rear riser hoses with a washer or you can tap the fitting and install brass Allen plug then drill it with a 3/8" hole.
This will provide warmer water to the engine and get some heat in it, you can safely run 140-150°F all day long.

No, there are two hoses on top of each manifold, front and rear.
The front hose to the water pump holes in the block. The stat hoses then go to the riser pipes. Restricting the rear riser hoses will ensure good flow to the engine.

Ah. I think you are talking about exhsust manifold hoses. Ok. Let visualize once again.

Ok. Sounds like warm water will now be entering from front exhaust port. Then tstat to front riser port. Leaving rear riser hose alone except for adding restriction.... cant that very frimt port be used instead of top front port?

That's a casting plug.
Enter from the bottom middle. It does two things, it ensures the air pockets get pushed up and the manifold temp stays more uniform.
