so i broke off my dipstick in the block of my 455. ( i know retarted)
i got it out with an easy out. my question is, how do i replace it? who sells them?

arnt they just pushed in the oil pan? anyway mine i got at any autoparts store. i just picked up one of the chrome ones and stuck it in the whole with some rtv. worked great all last season. i have not had my boat out on the water yet this year.

I like going to those u-pick wrecking yards. Don't know if you are near one but I grabbed about 5 out of various makes and models with my engine. Took em home and picked the one with the closest match to my sticks length. Cut off a little bit on the end and used a jewelers file to score a new full mark.

I bought mine from Summit, I think it is a Mr Gasket with a billet looking knob for like $30.00. They fit in the block pretty tight, so you will probably not have to use any RTV. Don't feel bad, I broke mine off in the block removing the exhaust log. I used a set of tubing benders and bent the tube to stick up behind the log at the rear of the engine to aviod breaking it again. If you have logs, you might want to think about doing something like that.

I had one break off in my old k boat. I was too lazy to pull the motor an pan to get it out. Ran it that way for a while until it decided to drop down in the pan and procedided(sp?) to take out my whole motor.
