Title: What msd is best for my application
Post by: jrankin on September 23, 2016, 03:36:39 PM
I need new ignition. This is what I have and wondering what you guys thing would be best for my budget of $500.00

Motor 468 BBC forged crank, rods, flat top .60 over positions. 049 heads all stainless valves, springs, roller rockers. 11:1 compression. Cam is 600 range and 580. 750 Dave Lang built holly carb. Hp guess 525 range.

Looking at RTR pro billet HEI with built in rev limiter. Or  what do you guys think is best for what I'm running? Pump berk 12-JG A cut droop and Divertor, with ride plate...

I'm running one of these, works great. No rev limiter. $375

For $500 I guess you're looking at the MSD Distributor complete, not the 6M-2 style.

You can run a DUI.  Send them your info and they tune them to your specs.

Do they have rev limiter?

I like the ready to run MSD, have used it a few times,  also look into the Pertronix units

I don't think anyone asked,  is this a closed engine deal? (Doubt it).

You mean engine hatch. No all open, and do I need to run a Marine or no?
