Title: Where to mount Mallory Ignition Box?
Post by: Bahner454 on April 23, 2008, 08:55:10 AM
I just picked up a Mallory AL6 ignition box and was wondering about the best place to mount this thing?
Anyone have any pictures of how they have mounted the after market ignition boxes?
 Thanks

::)  Ouch. Good thing the original HotBoat.com isn't still around.   :D

I've been told that the MSD boxes need to be at least one foot from the distributor but I've seen a lot of pics of MSD boxes within a few inches of distributors and a lot of those were assembled/built by pro boat builders. If you have a engine cover on your boat keep in mind that the MSD 6AL isn't for a marine application. You have to run the MSD boxes power wires straight to the battery.
