put a .060 over 455 in my boat.  everything came off of my old motor that possibly spun a bearing, nothing too bad.....

here is the deal...i can't get it to fire.  i have fuel, air and spark.  timing is spot on.  wtf.  going to pull a allnight so aquaholic cant talk sh*t when i kick his a**.

Does it even sound like it is trying to start?

Double check all the basics, wiring connections, grounds, Ignition wiring, How did you verify timing?

Just throwing things out there, maybe it will help you remember something.

Need more info, how long has the motor been sitting? Sometimes (not too often) if a new motor sits for a long time, the cylinders dry up and there is not enough compression to light off (also could be fuel washed), try a little oil down the carb for that, otherwise, the spark has to be at the right spot, does it pop back through the carb? Also, how strong is the spark, may not be getting full spark to the plug, especially if an electronic dealio....

Valve lash could also be too tight, not making compression, who did the cam timing?, that could be wrong too, boy the more I think about it, these things are a pain in the ass...LOL

motor sat for a year with oil in it.  i put oil in all cylinders prior to starting( dry start bad).  everything is turning, just wont light off.  i feel its flooded.  im going to the river tomorrow and i think im puttin in an allnighter.  it is a new motor though..... need to do a cam break in..

Time for some starting fluid, plugs could be oil fouled too...

I know, I'm just bored and feel like typing.........about ANYTHING

What type dist? points or elec. 

 Do you have 12 volts at the ignition box, or coil?  If the input volts are down so is the output.

Pull a plug wire, stick your finger in it.   Have someone crank it over, if you piss yourself spark is good 

Did you try starting fluid?   What effect? 

If it's popping up the intake I'm betting the timing is 180 out too or it's not getting the fuel you think it is.  (not likely with 2x4's)    Do you have a vac gauge?  If so what's it reading while you crank?

 Oh, and don't forget it's not air, fuel, spark bang. 

 It's air, fuel, compression, spark, bang 

Days like yours is why Ford put the dist. up front, easier to trouble shoot

Did you pull a plug to see if it's fuel soaked?   If it is why not unhook one of the carbs, go to wide open throttle and give it a shot of starting fluid.
