I bought a 1972 rayson craft this summer that has a 455 olds in it with a Berkeley jet drive. I live in the Connecticut / Massachusetts area and need to look into winterizing my boat soon as it may be in cold storage (praying to find somewhere heated). I'm just curious what the best / most recommended way is to winterize the engine and drive. I have a 2003 Malibu v-drive that we always just disconnect every hose on the engine and fully drain it, haven't had a single issue in 16 years of cold storage. I have a valve like on a garden faucet that provides water from the jet to the engine, so my plan was to disconnect the hose from the pump to the engine and let the hose drain out, along with disconnecting all lines going to / coming from the exhaust logs. I'm also planning on storing with fuel tanks full, with Stabil in them along with keeping the battery on a tender. Does this sound adequate? Do I need to do anything for the jet drive? Also, is there any annual maintenance I should be performing on the jet drive over the winter?

Best bet- pull the block plugs above the pan rail, as well as all of the manifold hoses.
Or, using the connection between the jet and engine, (and possibly a short section of hose) fill the entire engine, logs and snails with rv antifreeze, until it comes out the exhaust on the transom, roughly 2 gallons. (Pink stiff is far more lake friendly than green car antifreeze)
Spring time, launch fire it up and go.
