Title: Yank my crank

Now that I have the attention of the Vegas crew   >:D


I just acquired a 455 crank from QuickOlds (thank you very much).    I was always told to store a crankshaft standing up on one end.  Does it really hurt them to lay them down horizontally?  Even if it was just for a few days/weeks?   In my garage I think it might be safer that way, as my grommets don't ever watch what they are doing.   They are the original "bulls in a china shop".    All input is greatly appreciated.

Stand it up on the water heater pedestal and ratchet strap it to the water heater. If the grommets can knock all THAT over, I wouldn't EVER mess with them......... ;)

laying them down will warp them but it takse a long time for it to happen.

my crank is setting in a box designed for cranks laying on the garage floor! it has all this padding....should i worry? also the crank had mallory metal in it and doesnt exactly look pretty should i worry about that too?

  Not sure about the water heater due to space, but I am sure I have a 4x4 leg of some pretty buff shelves that I could use.  Thanks  :thumbup:
