I can garuantee you that if you buy this engine and you rebuild/replace the carb you will have a solid, strong engine, and if treated like it was meant to be treated it will last you several years. It's a drop in and go situation.

Well with the amount of Chevy shit i collected by selling that i will get quite a bit back.......... ???

This is a completely stock engine with the only exceptions being the intake and the Ignitor ignition module. This is basically the same engine that I had in my Miller. I drove that boat for hours straight, I just kept the RPM's at or below 4,000 RPM's with short occasional 5,000++ RPM blast's.

This engine is not rebuilt, it's been thoroughly checked a given a clean bill of health.
Not a big deal on this site but on eBay over thousand feedbacks is a lot of transactions, so basicaly I stake my reputation on this engine. Neither Marc nor I rebuild carbs, we take them apart, clean them the best we can, and then get them to run. A properly rebuilt carb is more than disassembling it and spraying carb cleaner and then compressed air through the ports and jets.
If my boat were a V hull this engine would not be for sale. But as my tunnel hull and this engine sit, I'd need to get a lot of parts to be able to install it. I'd rather have the BBC that my boat is set-up for.

Stock rebuild with 180lbs of compression.... holy cow!
-
I can vouch for the compression , I am the one who checked it. I also pulled off the main caps and checked the bearings and the crank , and they both look bran new. It appears to be a std/std crank with new bearings.

Exactly. It sounds really good in person.

What stock motor comes with 12:1 Compression ;D
-
If you go on some of the 455 sites and read the compression charts most of the older car motors were 190 cranking compression.

Only if you're going to abuse your boat's engine everywhere you go. :banghead:

Come to think of it, the Miller's 455 had a 8 quart pan on it. Looked kind of like a car's oil pan. :screwy:
