Title: 2 BBC's
Post by: River Dad on January 16, 2008, 01:35:16 PM
need to sell ASAP for another project. I'll get up pics as soon as I can.

One is a mark IV 4 bolt main  .060 over (468).  12:1 compression ratio with domed pistons.  Not sure on the bottom end as it comes with a 10 qt pan that is still on.  Complete long block with hyd cam, older Edelbrock polished t-ram with single Holley 650 douple pumper, dist, and log exaust.  Motor was built by GS Marine for a flat.  I'll try to get more info from the guy that I bought it off of.        $1400    Come get it.

Second one is another mystery.  I know it's a 2-bolt main Mark IV.  The pistons are flat top and appear to be forged.  The bottom end is very nice.  Eagle H-beam rods with ARP bolts and a crank that is std/std.  I can't tell if it's forged or what, I don't see any casting marks at all, its smooth.  Maybe  a billet?   I'll get some pics up and see what you all think it is.  the block is .020 and could be cleaned up with a min hone.   Long block includes square port heads.  $1500

Call me if you're interested,  first come, first serve...........     Jason   951-675-9249

Checked with the previous owner and the motor was built by a friend of his, not GS Marine.  The boat was done at GS.  Here's a shot of the domes.

Can anybody tell what type of crank this is?

I think you're right Busby,  Looks real similar to the Eagle crank I put in my old CP.  Still for sale, would make a great foundation for a pump gas project. Busby, any luck on your boat?  That's a great deal,  I'm sure it won't last long

It's kind of difficult for me to tell, but it looks like you've got a lot of what I want. I called and left a message. I'd like to get your forgded flat tops, H-beams, a stronger than stock cast 454 crank. I'd like a set of rect port heads but it isn't req'd for my ap..

I've got a 454 2bolt block, one cylinder needs sleeving, 6 B.S. cast rods, 6 domed hyperwhatever pistons - as far as 454's go - it's a bunch of crap.  :P  If I could get a strong rotating ass w/flat tops in a block that's right for the pistons I'm way further ahead.

I have a oil pan and 049 oval heads and a few other misc. to finish it off (minus intake system which I'm going to get in a month or two).

Hey Jason , nice meeting you to, and thanks again for all you did and all the goodies you brought me.
You just put my project to about the 75% done level. ;D  Thanks again.

I have a 454 complete with pan, polished manifold, polished exuast, carb, mallory ign, etc.   It came out of a running boat 2 months ago after we swapped in a 468 4 bolt.  Turns over nice and smooth and had 60 lbs oil pressure.  I didn't build it, just removed it...  I'll get the casting #'s for ya and post some pics.  Jason
