That's a steal for a polished 8-71 with manifold.
Plus $120 for carb adapter
plus $1200 for drive kit
Plus $500 for carbs
Still cheap in comparison

It doesn't need an entire drive kit, but everything else you said looks right on. You could probably piece the rest of the drive kit together for about $500 - $600.

I am wondering where he stole it from, who would sell it that cheap? :screwy: :sly:

It's funny you would say that. I was on the phone with HD when he saw this posting on Craigslist and he started noticing that the parts for sale are the exact same parts that he has on his Sanger, which is in a storage facility. :o

Exactly. I bought my 6-71 for $100 and I had it checked out by a shop and it was all still in spec. But this one's an even better deal with the manifold and a manifold and 8-71. And it's only $200 range to get one rebuilt

I agree with that but I think we can both agree about a lot of the stuff we see is overpriced for what it is. Who really determines what a fair price is? Of course there is always some turd out there that will pay more for something than what its worth (just look at parts on ebay!). My whole point is that it seems like there is a lot of people that intend to get rich selling old parts. If you have something that is rare and hard to come by then by all means charge the top dollar for it, but top dollar for lets say a throttle pedal is a bit ridiculous. Ok I'm finished with my whole rant about over priced parts. Sorry everyone! ;D

I probably will never understand that why parts are more often than not claimed to be overpriced on eBay when it is the customer who decides what the parts are worth on eBay. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I actually checked my storage this morning, all is ok. Same manifold and rear bearing plate as mine. I got my drive, manifold AND carb plate from Dyer's for about 1300. I have a Idler pully bracket if anybody is into this thing. I may see if I can get it for a spare.
I just got this off a dude on CL for $150, there are deals out there:
