Ok Guys
i have what may be a stupid question. but has anyone ever tried to put a diesel engine in a jet. and if not why not.

Lots 'o torque with a diesel. You would just need to have an A3/A4+ impellor, prob run great.

I have never seen one in a jet , the one that races is a v-drive.

Some of the New Zealand river boat trips use some badass turbo diesels with 3stage Hamilton pumps these things fly! Gasoline is super expensive over there.

These guys run a 70MPH jetboat with 20 people on board :screwy:

Theres a pretty cool article in some shitty boating magazine this month about Banks Diesel building a marine engine.
