Good choice. I'll keep my eyes open. How much do you wanna spend? I know there is one on craigslist, kinda pricey but lots of goodies. Tunnel Ram, dual 660 center squirters, top mount starter.

Thought I had the deal of a century for you today, went to take a look at it during lunch today and all I can say is "people suck", this dude claimed to have a running 454 in his "race car" for $600, NOTit was a very tired grease spot that GM called a 402 that had stuff trying to get out (knock), anyways I have a call into my "Rock Dodger" friends to find out if anybody has a running 454 crate motor for cheap, sometimes due to the rules, these guys replace rather than rebuild and can be a pretty good deal especially since they are all going 502/502..Keep ya posted ;)

thanks alot for the little bit of info. i picked up a set of heaters from SoCal 310 they are the upswept headers he had for sale, and i also picked up some 4 point motor mounts so now i need a motor and start parting out my 455 to try and get some extra money for the extra stuff i will need and to help fund the new engin swap. if you know of anyone looking for some 455 parts let me know.

Always wanted one of these............. :'( The only thing that bothers me is it is not a 454, should be a 427, how could he not know?

It says the bore is 4.25 and the stroke is 4.00. That equals 454 to me. Unless the information he provided is incorrect.

I know, thats what makes me suspicious, a ZL1 is a redo of the all aluminum 427, a ZL1 454 almost sounds like a LS7 396, no such animal...Buyer beware... :sly:
