Sorry about this dumb question, but what is a puke tank for?

For puking... :P

Many times on a high revving engine with a fairly loose piston to wall clearance, the crankcase pressure can spew oil and condensation out of the breathers making a huge mess of literally everything.

The puke tank acts as a reservoir catching all of the goo and still allowing the pressure to be vented effectively, so the breather hoses go to the tank and the outlet of the top of the tank is either vented directly or has evac hoses attached to it.

Thanks GT.

We have had freezing weather here.  If it would warm up a bit, I could continue my overhaul.
