Post by: bigred88 on August 22, 2013, 12:28:18 PM
hey fellas been takin break from the ol 77 wrkin on the new project the block is cracked so I wont be using anything out of this motor havent taken the shortblock apart yet but if anyone wants sum of this stuff I can tear it down the pistons dnt have part number# stamped in top so im assuming there a probably cast type factory replacment piston they look like the old 396 425hp replacement piston not sure if there cast or not? I havent mic yhe bore either so unsure of exact size just kno its 396 block I will mic them if someone interested the rods are probably usuable aswell also have a solid howards cam guy says they were new lifters I prob wouldnt use em but they can go with it if u want em free and have this eddy intake guys says was new also it looks very new and with a cleanin I think could pass as new intake sry dnt have much info just workin on a 454 shortblock this one just sittin the block is junk intake is oval

It's a '71 C10 long bed.  I'll get some pics posted once I get a few more collected of the build.  Going with a 454/th400 combo so the daughter will have plenty of power to get down the street to high school without any issues  ;D
