My friends boat has a 502 blown bbc, the engine sounds good and idles fine, but i noticed that looking at the inside of his bassett headers, the driverside was pure black soot, and the passengerside was clean a whistle, what do you guys think might be the problem? Im thinking its a valve issue, but i could be wrong.

Its carb set up, were they built for the blower set up or out of the box?

Yes they were set up for the blower, 2x 750cfm holley
