Title: Teague 509" BBC Merlin
Post by: River Dad on August 25, 2009, 09:07:00 PM

I have a complete 509" BBC by Teague built for a jet boat.   Includes the following:

Merlin II BBC  std deck block -  std bore  (4.500" bore)
Std/Std 5140 steel crank with 4.000"  stroke
Custom JE pistons (#180656)   9.7:1 compression
low tension oil rings / .990' full floating pins
Manley rods (6.385") wiht ARP bolts  (part# 14062)
Ported Merlin 310 open chamber aluminulm heads
Inconel exaust calves (+.100") (1.880")
Stainless intake valves (2.250)
Crane solid roller cam with gold race roller rockers and crane stud girldle (#13R000215)
.714 lift
Moroso 10qt jet pan with H/V oil pump

This is a bad ass motor.  Built by Teague with a full build sheet and all clearances.  All parts were new and not rebuilt as you can see, it's all standard.  Virgin block, crank, rods, and pistons.   This motor came from the CP 19' I just sold and it ran 99 on GPS in good air.  The previous owner had the motor built by Teague for the CP and estimated 10-12 trips on it and around 720 hp.  The reciept for the short block was $11k without the heads.  This motor would make somebody REAL happy...

$5500 obo for the complete long block,  $6500 complete with the polished TR2 T-ram (port matched) Dual double pumpers and scoop.  I'll get some pics up soon.

Somebody must be ready to step up to a bad ass mill!!!

Jason, love to have that motor for Ming.
Unfortunently there's the first mortgage, the second mortgage, rent on the shop (bigger than the first and second), and two kids in college. :banghead:

Jason, why don't you just rent that motor to me.
10% per race weekend.

I don't know Ron,  with your record I wouldn't even see 10%........   (Hmmm ,  1 race,  2 motors,  I don't think that works out...)   Just jokin bro ;D
Come on, sell some damn cabinets,  you need this beast to bring Harold to his knees.......

Jason, need a new kitchen. Maybe something like this.
That would make the motor a 10% deposit on the cabinets.

Hell I need that engine, and I don't even know why, other than it makes more HP than the last BBC i had in my garage AND I may have sumpin up my sleeve for it.

Will it take a blower? lol?

Damn Ron,  if I built a kitchen like that they probably wouldn't let me in it....lol   Beatuiful work

Ray, that is the same motor as the 800Teague (blown).  No problem on the blower, just run a chiller and keep the boost down to reasonable limit or up the gas to race gas.  This is currently set up as a pump gas package, no $7 a gallon river trips for me anymore ;D
