Title: Used 460 block sell or scrap?

I've got a 460 block that needs to have the cylinders worked and maybe some other things done to it. Is it worth getting the work done and try to sell it or just scrap it? Same with the crank..

Imho, you would be better off selling it as a core block.

Unless your going to buy pistons and machine it to those. Which would be silly.

Most machine shops are always looking for core blocks and cranks.

May just call around and tell them what you have.  Might make a couple hundred bucks if it's not junk.

Take it for what it's worth.

I know I would be hesitant to purchase a machined block. The question is,  machined to what?

Ah, I understand what you're saying. I'll give some shops a call and see what they have this say.

If it is junk, I would consider buying it as a mock up block, for a reasonable price.

I don't really want to sit on something that someone could actually use, and it breaks my heart to see something scrapped that can be used.

I was thinking along the lines of scrap rates.  I paid $50 for a BBC with 3 windowed cylinders.

Pretty sure it need to be sleeved in at least two cylinders
