There is a guy by the name of Herbert Hoegemeier pursuing the want ads on the boat sites. I had a want ad for some nice headers for my BBC and he saw my ad called my on the phone and said he had some real nice ones for 300.00 dollars Then he said he has a real nice motor mount kit in chrome for BBC for 200.00 , we agreed on 100.00 total shipping from Missouri to Az. He asked me to go to the local Walmart and send him the $600.00 to his Walmart money card . I did so as he asked back on 1/22/15. It took him 3 weeks and all he sent me was some totally crappy rusted out ceramic coated headers. His info. is Herbert Hoegemeier Missouri phone number 314 - 358- 5260 Walmart acc. # 11888701495352479 he is bad news and a burn artist. Please spread the word to prevent other fellow boaters from being burned. I don't know what his ID name he uses on the boaters website? Maybe somebody knows this dude ! Sincerely Wally

Damn... that sucks.. sorry to hear that.. i myself never do anything out of state.unless its ebay, and i know i have buyer protection.. really sucks that u cant trust people anymore...makes it hard for honest people to sell things as well.!!! F#ck that herbert guy....

Don't do any money transactions unless it's through PayPal ... Best way to buy hands down they have saved my ass more than once if u ever have and doubts just call em b4 u buy

Thanks guys . I know about PayPal as I have been an eBay seller for many years!Probably the worst part of this deal is my wife being very upset at me trusting a fellow boater and her in the background going all boaters are interested in is Boats Beer and Butts and there BS ! Then to have this Weasel do this to us and hide behind his phone like a little girl.Any way we are moving forward with our Placecraft Tunnel build and going to have another awesome boat to go river racing!Thanks, Wally PS spread the word on this buzzard....

I hate the say this, but your first red flag for you to see was the Walmart money card. They are used to scam people all the time. Sorry to hear about that, hope you find what your looking for

Not a fan of Paypal since the Patriot act... Use your credit card with reverse charge as well. Have them send you an email with pics showing an stating what your buying with a 100% refund on items if not as described then use a cashiers ck. I would blast the thief on all Boating Forums btw. I'm curious why socal an the other boating sites don't have a scam artist/thief link near the classifieds. Sure would help the newbies.

Another one to avoid is Jim Rich. Also goes by JR Performance or Emanon Marine. Hes out of bullhead city and hes been hiding behind his wife's name Donna Robertson to do transactions because he can't even get a paypal account or bank account. I know the guy personally and highly suggest no one do business with him or let him work on your boat. Hes a hack and does terrible work.

I have bought small parts from ernie in highland because he's close without issue.. not sure id buy a boat from him tho..

Ernie is probably ok for smaller things, as long as you know what you're looking at. As far as complete boats or engines, I'd run like hell
