Title: WTB mechanical fuel pump
Post by: phatnasty85 on September 09, 2014, 08:48:08 PM
Looking for a mechanical fuel pump. Better reliability. Let me know if anyone has one and is willing to part with it.

I just switched from electric to mechanical...too many headaches with electric. Bought mine at AutoZone for 15 bucks.

That's part of the reason I will not buy parts at vatozone .. had a store manager argue with me once about a pickup coil. Swore up and down the car didn't have one, yet I had it in my hand.
I've had pretty good luck with O'reilly.

I do agree they are morons. I hate having to go in there and spend 30 minutes in front of the counter just to get home and figure out it's the wrong part...I learned my lesson. Take the pump off and take it in. Have them match it up.

Open or closed motor... I have a carter electric if your interested for 80 plus ship(used on a couple trips). I run a mech carter on my BBF with the vent tube ran to arrestor (enclosed hatch) but you can get the regular one without the tube. Try summit... dont need the marine version unless its enclosed.
