2007 Nostalgia Jet Circle Boat Racing




Anyone that is interested, would like to get involved, or want more info in Jet Boat Circle racing, please let me know by email: epm@cox.net. We need a minimum of 5 boats to have a Nostalgia Jet Class. I would like to see a full field at each and every race, 8 - 9 boats.

Nostalgia Comp Jet Class

APBA & SCSC Proposed General Rules  

1) Required:  Minimum of 5 Boats.

2) Maximum length of 21'.

3) Entry Fee:  $100/average pre day, rates may vary.

4) Plus APBA Membership fee (can apply for Single Event rather than full membership).

5) Plus SCSC membership fee-$20/year.

6) Certified Life Jacket & Helmet, Per APBA specified rules.  Helmet and jacket must meet APBA rule, (ii)    For participants in open and unrestrained cockpits, the upper fifty percent (50%) of the helmet must be neon, florescent, red, orange, yellow, or international orange, and meet current certification.

7) Boats to be in safety compliance, Per APBA specified rules.

No Jet-A-way required.

9) GPS - Contact Jim Best for GPS Spec...must have max speed sensor and recording.

10) Maximum speed 80.9 MPH.

11) Kill switch.

12) Neck collar.

13) Helmet restraints.

14) Any engine (ci), as many carbs as wanted, super chargers, blowers, turbos, anything including Turbine engines.

15) Turning Rudder (must be equipped with a rudder that extends at least 4 inches below the jet nozzle and has a minimum surface area of 16 inches).

16) Diverter stop, Rooster Tail is not to exceed 4? off the water. This also includes fixed nozzle boats

17) Through bolted loader (4 - 5/16" black oxide bolts).

18) The numbers must be at least 12 inches in height, starting with cj, in contrasting colors, and legible.

19) Have fun and be safe.

Please find the sanction link for the Bluewater Resort & Casino Spring Classic - April 21 & 22, 2007.  Please note that there is MANDATORY PRE-REGISTRATION DUE NO LATER THAN APRIL 18, 2007.   The entry blank must be completely filled out and signed by driver/owner/rider (as prescribed by category and class).  All pre-registrations that are sent in incomplete or without money/credit card authorization will be deemed NOT COMPLETE and charged a late fee ($50/entry).  Please note that Ann Hoban will be on-site on Friday April 20, 2007 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at judges stand and then from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in her room (tba).

Accomodations:  The Bluewater Resort is currently remodeling it rooms and 1/2 of the hotel will be shut down leaving less than 100 rooms for the event. If you have tried to make reservations, the Bluewater is Sold Out.  In an effort to provide alternate accomodations I have put together a list of hotels and alternatives that might be of interest.

ABSOLUTELY NO race boats are to run on the race course prior to Drivers' Meeting on Sat. morning (4/21). This is a NO WAKE zone until the C.G. Permit becomes effective. Any boats found testing on the race course prior to Drivers' Meeting 4/21 may be dq'd at the discretion of Race Committee. BUOY/FLARES: There will be a $75 small buoy charge, $200 large buoy charge for any buoy(s) DAMAGED or DESTROYED in the races. This will be charged to the driver(s) that DAMAGES or DESTROYS the buoy, regardless of fault. There will be $10/flare charge to driver(s) who causes any unnecesarry flares to be fired. APBA Inboard/Series Dress Code and pit pass procedures strictly enforced. Classes needing eliminations - Last chance qualifier maybe used. Main Events are based on times. Legal heats will take priority and classes may be combined at discretion of Race Committee. PITS: Keep ALL NON-RACING equipment (ie: Motorhomes) out of pit area- Motorhomes must Park up on bluff above Pits. There is a designated Motorhome/spectator parking area above pit area. Food & Beverages will be available each day in the pits at the Cantina. If you do not belong to an APBA affiliated club or do not have your club card (proof), you will be asked to join SCSC at this event for $20.00 membership fee. All Teams showcase your sponsors and team on the Water Channel.
