This is normally called the 'Gord Trip', but unfortunately, Gord and Marylou are unable to make the trek down from Canada this year, but in true form, the party must go on!

we will surely miss coming down this year .it has gotten to be a must do for us but due to Lou retiring this year we are going to be away the whole month of september and half of December, as well as several 4 day trips and we just can't be away from the farm for the month of August too .But we will be back  with Canadian beer

At the Big River Inn.
It's really small so I'm gonna say if you don't call immediately, you'll probably have to stay in town which is about 10 minutes away but right in the middle of town.

Big River full. Booked at Kofa hoping to possibly be moved over after one if you back out!😉😉

Lori at Big River was very cool and said we can hang there all day no problem because we booked at Kofa which is there sister motel... If this helps anyone.

Ha, so my girls Dad just hit us up saying he wanted to go this to the river this weekend... He wants to run his new v-drive!
And if SCJB.com is going to be in Parker the same weekend, looks like we are going to be in Parker. Not sure where we are going to stay yet. But we will have to stop by and meet everyone.

Please understand we are not going to be in Parker. There is a dam that separates these 2 areas. We will be south of the dam, Parker is on the north side of the dam.

Thank you! I did not realize there was a damn below Bluewater. The last out by Parker was when I was 8, it's a little foggy. I'm not sure where we are going to be, I know he really likes Blythe. But that's only because they live in Yucca Valley and can be at Blythe in a little over and hour.

NOT that it will be happening anytime soon, but this thread popped up, and it hits on a question I've been wondering.
 Are there spots for RV's? You guys always mention booking hotels and such, but I haven't noticed anything about RV's, or maybe I just didn't see it?
 Anyway, after my little girls' treatments, and Chemo sessions get more in a routine and we know for sure what we are dealing with, our normal 2-3 times a year SoCal trips will hopefully begin again.
We have an '05 24 footer, and take  I-15  all the way down to SanDiego/ Escondido from  I-90  up here. Plus it looks like  I-95  is right near by too, which is also a straight shot (although a "back road")  to I-90.
Anyways, just been wondering, and figured this was a good time to ask.

Yes, there is the Big River RV Park close to the Big River Inn. It would be awesome if you and your family could make it to one of these events in the future.

Brad we/ I'm working on that!! While the excitement of hanging with you guys and getting on the water, and just having fun, has somewhat and understandably petered out for my wife. I'm still keeping the dream alive.
 And no matter what, my baby girl comes first and foremost above anything, but we still have to live life, and want her to have fun no matter what. And since the boat was a father/ daughter item,( we bought it together, we cleaned it together, we sat in it and made motor noises together, ) she is still enthusiastic about it.
It will happen......eventually.

Ken we also make a couple trips each year to the Avi... In the Laughlin area... The avi also has a great campground on site.  My hubs and I have stayed there before too.  Keep that in mind also... I hope that darling little girl of yours is hangin tough!! 😊

Ken have you ever been to big river with your boat? Not too many 24'ers on the water that I can recall. Due to the water fluctuation most the big boats stay on the strip.

I think hes talking about his travel trailer....not his boat lol
