Hey guys, I'm James, one of the admins from the Texas Hot Boats FB page. Some of us are talking about putting together a trip out west this summer. Maybe to Havasu, possibly Laughlin? We're looking for a non holiday weekend in a place we can find some fast water and make a few passes with our SoCal brothers. We're just in the planning phase and looking for ideas.
Thanks in advance.

Ok, we're thinking now to leave out of Texas on Wednesday, get to the river Thursday night, prolly at Havasu. Hang out there on Friday to get boat pics with the London bridge and what not. Saturday go to Blythe for some side by side testing, and then Sunday chillin and grillin wherever the "in" crowd wants to hang out. Head home Monday morning.

I would be down for that road trip...

The In Crowd have big boats they don't know how to drive, but the rest of us would be glad to hang out. I might come down from Idaho for that. See how many states can get represented!

For your night in Havasu if you want to spend a good amount of money on the hotel I think London bridge resort would be good it’s on the water and you would be in the Chanel next to the bridge they have 1 and 2 bedroom rooms also a couple of bars in the hotel for night life if you want something cheap knights inn is ok for an older cheap hotel I’ve stayed a few times it’s walking distance to the downtown bars as well ask for a room over looking the Boat parking.lots of other hotels I’m sure other guys will chime in with

Placecraft jess pretty much nailed it. You can find houses to rent of HomeAway and split it between the group. Some houses in havasu allow two night rentals. Bars to check out as well are the flying x saloon, BJs and such off Mcculloch Blvd.

I assume you are talking about the summer of 2018. I will be traveling out there again around the end of April and staying for a month. I suggest you plan your trip in conjunction with the SoCal jet boat events that happen around that time. I don't think the 2018 schedule has been finalized yet. The SoCal events I have been to were worth the drive all by themselves. From Houston it's and easy two day drive to Phoenix. Driving to Blythe or Havasu on the second day would make for two 11 hour driving days. Your trailer and tires must be in A1 shape. I10 is a good road now but it's still 1100 miles to Phoenix and another 150 to Blythe.

If coming now in the off season, Parker or Laughlin would be fine but in the summer you would have to be South of Parker for a large group to be making passes, all else is just too busy. Big River, Lost Lake, Ahi Quin, Blyth are some good options. It is hard to put something like this together because someone will always not like your plan no matter what you do. Best to just make the call and stick with it, who ever likes your time and location great and just too bad for the others. A Doodle Pole could help, https://doodle.com/ If at all possible I would like to attend.
